Brendan Chaplin: ‘Core’ Training Considerations and Applications May 18th @ Leeds Met University

CORE TRAINING CONSIDERATIONS WITH BRENDAN CHAPLIN

LEEDS METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY, 18th MAY 10AM-1PM

COST: £59 BEFORE 10th May

£69 THEREAFTER

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

‘Core’ training is a term that has been used and abused a lot in the last decade or so. As strength and conditioning professionals, what we need to do is distinguish the actual training from the exercises or movements that don’t actually make our clients or athletes any better whatsoever. This workshop is aimed at doing just that, with a progressive model of development presented that aims to get your athletes moving well and getting better!

IN THIS WORKSHOP YOU WILL LEARN:

- What is the ‘Core’ and what we are dealing with in developing ‘core’ physical qualities

- How to assess strengths and weaknesses in the core and where to progress from these points

- Progressions and regressions in core training

- What are we trying to develop? Core Strength? Stability? You’ll learn what the goals really are!

- High end core training, it’s not about lying on the floor!

- Programming core training and how to fit it into your training week.

- How to coach effectively, learn when to talk and the importance of the ‘just do it’ principle!

- What the research says about core training? Why you need to apply evidence based practice in everything you do.
